Hogy, I just did a quick look through Joe Spann's Gibson FON book and couldn't find anything for 1938 J35's that looked like "A30". There was a batch of J35's made in 1941 with a FON of "480 G".

With a little imagination I can see 830 D (very faint) on my guitar. Anybody agree? Yes, possibly… If it is a three tone bar J-35, it is not a 41. It would be one of the earlier years.
